Judie Rappaport is the author of Eldercare 911: The Caregiver’s Complete Handbook for Making Decisions. In addition to being extremely well received by caregivers, Eldercare 911 is the textbook for the home study course of recertification of geriatric nurses by Nursing Education America. Her second book, The Eldercare 911 Question and Answer Book, also published by Prometheus Books, will be available in June of 2005. Ms. Rappaport is a pioneer in elder-care issues. In 1991 she founded Parent Care, one of the oldest care management companies in the U.S. In 2000, Ms. Rappaport co-founded Preferred Client Services, a geriatric care and special needs care management firm that helps manage healthcare and quality of life needs for the elderly and developmentally disabled. Ms. Rappaport is nationally known speaker and a member of the permanent teaching faculty for the certification examination of the Society of Certified Senior advisors. Her articles have appeared in the Marquette University Elder Advisor, Trusts & Estates Magazine, the South Florida Business Journal, the Journal of the Society of Certified Senior Advisors, Life Insurance Selling, Top 7 Internet newsletter, Producers Web Internet resources, and other publications. Ms. Rappaport is a Certified Senior Advisor and a member of The Alzheimer’s Community Care Association's Dementia Specific Standards Committee, the American Society on Aging, National Council on Aging, Palm Beach County Trusts & Estate Council, and the Community Board of the American Heart Association of Palm Beach County.She has achieved Levels I and II, the State of Florida’s highest levels of Alzheimer’s training. |
